Adobe Connect Accounts – http://companyname.adobeconnect.com
First of all, this is nothing to do with the Adobe Connect account you have with GetConnect, and your Adobe Connect account has not changed. If you are using a URL in the format ‘http://companyname.adobeconnect.com’ you are set, nothing is any different.
ConnectNow Legacy Accounts – http://companyname.acrobat.com
The ConnectNow product was a sister to Adobe Connect and resided in the Acrobat team at Adobe (formerly Macromedia). This product has been discontinued for some years but the accounts in many cases are still live. The URL for these products was ‘http://companyname.acrobat.com’ and as this product was not related to the Acrobat team, the accounts were all redirected to the Adobe Connect clusters.
The accounts functioned as they did in the past.
The redirect from ‘…acrobat.com’ to ‘…adobeconnect.com’ was recently removed so the URL ‘http://companyname.acrobat.com/content’ no longer works.
To correct this and ensure your content works again, edit the URL from ‘http://companyname.acrobat.com/content’ to ‘http://companyname.adobeconnect.com/content’ and it should all be fine again.
Note – When you click on the old URL, you will see that it resolves to a specific cluster on the Connect hosted setup, the URL will be along the lines of ‘http://companyname.na3.acrobat.com/content’ (where na3 is the NA3 cluster). You can ignore the cluster in the changing of the URL, you just care about changing ‘…acrobat.com’ to ‘…adobeconnect.com’.
To be clear, this is nothing to do with the Adobe Connect account you purchased from GetConnect, this post is inly intended to help you correct your legacy ConnectNow account content and as these accounts look very similar it can be confusing.
Of course you can also contact Adobe Support if you have issues.
