You may want to edit your Connect recordings to remove sections or make the index more relevant. There are a few options for this outlined below.
Raw Connect raw format recording – The URL opens and plays the recording. Connect will automatically create an index and chapters for the recording including every slide, chat etc.
You can edit the index entries and chapters to arrange the session more effectively using the edit recordings option (see below).
Edited Connect raw format recording – Again just a simple URL that opens and plays the recording. You can make edits to the recording and maintain the interactivity of the recording from the Connect interface. This allows you to remove segments from the recording, edit the chapters, anonymize the attendees etc.
This is non-destructive in that your original recording is maintained, and the edited recording is a separate URL.

If you are wanting to send people to a specific place in a recording you can append a simple API call to the recording URL as outlined below along with some examples.
Start at the beginning – http://getconnect.adobeconnect.com/p45b36gekj9/
Start the same recording 5 minutes into the recording – http://getconnect.adobeconnect.com/p45b36gekj9/?archiveOffset=300000
Start the same recording 20 minutes into the recording – http://getconnect.adobeconnect.com/p45b36gekj9/?archiveOffset=1200000
Launch into a specific time in a Connect recording:
http://abcinc.adobeconnect.com/archiveID?archiveOffset=180000
Note – offset is in milliseconds, so multiply minutes by 60,000 to get offset value…i.e. if you want to start playback at 3 minutes into the recording then make the offset ‘180000’ (3×60,000)
Download as an FLV or MP4 using the free tool in Connect v9.5 and edit – This allows you to make a local ‘flat’ copy of the recording that you can edit in a video editor. This option is ‘real-time’ in that you have to wait 1 hour for Connect to create a copy of a 1 hour recording.
Note that this the FLV or MP4 copy has none of the intelligence or interactivity of the Connect raw format recording. Note also that you are more likely to have success editing an MP4 than an FLV due to the wider use of the MP4 format.
The edited FLV or MP4 can be re-loaded to your Connect account in the ‘Content’ tab so that you can just send a URL to viewers and have the Connect server do the ‘heavy-lifting’. You can also of course wrap Connect Events or Connect Training around the edited content.
Download as an MP4 using a paid service (eSyncTraining) and edit – This option is paid (you purchase packs of minutes) and the conversion is carried out server-side so you would request the conversion then essentially walk away. The conversion will happen on the eSyncTraining servers and not only frees up your machine, it also should happen significantly faster.
Editing and uploading of the content is as noted in above.
Note – This service is due to be released February 1st 2016 so this has not been tested but the writer at this time.
